Hanko – Stone Seals
At first, only the Emperor of Japan, his most trusted vassals and Samurai held Hanko, as they were a symbol of their authority. Now through Sinsetsu Studio, you can get your own custom Hanko. Hand-carved in stone, each delicately carved seal imprinted with the bearer’s name is used in Japan like how a signature is in western cultures.
Choose from your family name, business name, a meaning, motto, phrase or proverb to be translated by Sinsetsu Studio into a custom made Hanko. Includes ink and case.
